Aloha!
Vincent and I chose to have a small, intimate wedding with family and close friends. Everyone did a wonderful job in bringing along some Aloha Spirit. They all wore Aloha wear and were all leid on arrival.
Dodong walked me down the aisle while the Hawaiian Wedding Song played in the background. I wish I could say that I looked radiant but I was a mess! I cried all the way down the aisle. Couldn't help it. Once my foot touched the runner; once I saw my family and friends; once I noticed all the effort that everyone put in - I was completely overwhelmed.
Our family and friends put this wedding together. Marissa and Grace decorated the arch. Paul, Vincent and Richard dressed up the backyard so that it looked and felt like you were in Hawaii. Karen coordinated and arranged the flowers. She even managed to find a talented baker straight from Kaneohe to bake and decorate the cake! Coincidence, but we loved it!
And everyone dressed up. Even Danielle who initially showed up wearing a replica of Julia Robert's dress from "The Runaway Bride" (as she described it) changed to an even more gorgeous Hawaiian muumuu.
Then I saw Vincent.
How could I stop the flow then?
The Other Team Players
My dress - a Holoku Hawaiian Wedding Dress - was made by a wonderful man named in Kona (www.konashawaii.com) from Aiea, HI. Can you believe I only received that dress just 3 hours! before the wedding? Thank you to Kona for making such a wonderful dress and it fit wonderfully!
The leis arrived fresh from Maui - www.paradiseflowers.com
The cake, as mentioned, was made by Michelle from The Wedding Connection, Shawnee Mission, KS.
Food was provided by Ted and his crew from The Thai Place Restaurant.
Music was provided by two awesome talents - Ron on guitar and Cliff on flute.
